Exchange students need host families for the 2023 spring semester. A local coffee shop is continuing its holiday themed events with a couple of upcoming painting nights, and a four corners based effort aims to support independent restaurants with an adult themed coloring book featuring local craft companies. You're watching the Local News Roundup brought to you by True West Auto and the lawfirm of Downs, McDonough, Cowan, and Foley. I'm Connor Shreve. The International Student Exchange is looking for families to host international exchange students for a semester, starting as early as later this month. The students will arrive late December or early January and stay until school lets out for the summer. You'll get to pick from a list of prospective students and be connected with other local host families, and receive resources from the organization. You can be approved and start communicating with your student within a few days of applying. For more information, contact Tamara Behrman at 314-440-9278, or etbehrman@hotmail.com. You can find more information about the program at fourcorners.iseusa.org. San Juan Coffee is hosting a couple of festive arts-and-crafts nights this holiday season. Wednesday, December 21st the coffee shop will host a "Wild Expressions" painting event encouraging the painting theme of Christmas night. Participants will receive an 11 inch by 14 inch canvas to paint on with their registration. The second painting night comes on December 28th, and it will teach participants to create a snowflake gnome painting on a 16 by 20 inch canvas. Registration for each event costs $30 for adults, and $15 for kids under 10. Call 970-882-2669 to reserve your space. Learn more about the event at San Juan Coffee's Facebook page. Dolores River Brewery is featured in a boozy new coloring book being sold to support independent restaurants. The coloring book features logos of local and national breweries, distilleries and malt houses. It's a joint effort between Durango-based communications company Radcraft, and the James Beard Foundation's "Open For Good" campaign, which has provided almost $4.8 million to food and beverage establishments across the country. Earlier this month, Radcraft released a new version of the coloring book, with twice the number of pages as the original. All proceeds go directly to the "Open For Good" campaign. Go to radcraftbeer.com to purchase a hard copy of the coloring book for $25, or to download a digital version for $6. That's it for this week's Local News roundup. I'm Connor Shreve.
