What a way to start the county fair. Singer-songwriter Logan Mize will open the Montezuma County Fair along with featured guest, Tim Montana. You're watching the Local News Roundup brought to you by Big O Tires and the Lor Foundation. I'm Hannah Robertson. Gussied up sheep and cattle, pigs and 4H kids return the Montezuma County Fairgrounds July 29th through August 6th for the annual county fair. This year's theme, goin' showin' of course features animal shows flower and veggie shows, art exhibits, vendors and all manner of fun. Special events include a family gymkana, an ATV rodeo and lawnmower race, goat roping contest, a water fight, a team roping contest and our favorite, a chili and salsa contest. And to start the festivities a concert with county singer-songwriter Logan Mize with special guest, Tim Montana both accomplished musicians with top 20 hits will be on opening Friday night. Tickets for the concert are $15 in advance and $20 after Saturday, July 23rd. Gates open at 6 PM. Concert starts at 7 PM at the fairgrounds. The salvage operation has been established because water levels are being drawn down to allow for repairs on the dam's outlet. Anglers must have a 2022 fishing license and use only lawful angling methods. The emergency salvage operation will continue through October 31st. Visit cpw.state.co.us for more information.
