Montezuma County has two live music festivals coming up, starting with Montezuma Rising on May 26th, and followed by the Dolores River Festival on the 31st. The Dolores Farmer's Market is moving to a new location this year due to demolition, and the Colorado Department of Transportation wants to remind drivers to watch for cyclists and road closures during the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic. You're watching the Local News Roundup, brought to you by TruWest Auto and Choice Building Supply. I'm Connor Shreve. If you're looking to spend your weekends listening to live music, head over to Fence Line Cider in Mancos on Sunday, May 26th for Montezuma Rising, a music festival and community celebration. In addition to local music, food, and cider, this all-day event will highlight local nonprofits in Montezuma County, with all profits benefiting the Mancos Grange. Next weekend, the 18th annual Dolores River Festival is kicking off, Friday, May 31st, at the Dolores River Brewery, followed by a full day of live music on Saturday, June 1st at Joe Rowell Park. The Dolores Farmer's Market is changing locations this year due to the summer-long demolition project at Flanders Park. The Dolores Farmer's Market will be held at Joe Rowell Park this summer. The market will be located between the playground and baseball diamond. Other changes to the Dolores Farmer's Market include the addition of food trucks. The first farmer's market will take place on Wednesday, June 5th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and continue through October. The Colorado Department of Transportation wants to remind drivers that US Highway 550 will be closed to vehicles on Saturday, May 25th, between Purgatory Ski Resort and Silverton for the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes between 8:30 AM and 1:30 PM, and reminded to watch for cyclists all weekend as bicycle events will be taking place Friday through Sunday. Applications for the Turf Replacement Program are now open to Cortez residential homeowners and commercial business owners. The program is funded by a grant awarded to the City of Cortez through the Colorado Water Conservation Board, with the goal of minimizing water consumption by converting turf to low water use landscaping. Applications must be submitted for review by October 1st with funding distributed on a first come, first serve basis to qualifying applicants. Visit the City of Cortez website for more information.
