Kicking off the week On Wednesday, March 11th, the Cortez Public Library is celebrating Women's History Month with a special author talk from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Local author Margaret Kirk from the Mancos Public Library will be presenting her book. They Persisted a historical nonfiction collection of stories about strong, empowering women from the past. Snacks and refreshments will be provided and the event is free and open to the public. The Sunflower Theater will be holding events throughout the week. On Thursday, March 12th, the Sunflower Theater hosts its spoken word open mic night, starting at 7:00 PM. Bring your original poetry or a piece of original writing and share it with a warm, welcoming audience. Each reader gets three to seven minutes at the mic and works don't need to be memorized. A suggested donation of $5 is appreciated at the door. And to close out the week The Sunflower Theater returns Saturday, March 14th with the MoCo Improv Comedy Night. Doors open at 6:30 with the show starting at 7:00 PM. Expect fast paced, unscripted comedy built entirely in the moment. No two shows are ever the same.
