The Mancos Conservation District will present information on the effects of fire in the upper watershed and how fire impacts access to water, water quality, and range loss on Thursday, July 20th from 6:00 to 9:00 at the Mt. Lookout Grange in Mancos. It's the second event in a four event series of talks in the conservation district's calendar. The Cortez Fire Department is hiring. Full-time positions start at just over $41,000 per year and the application deadline is August 11th at 4:00 PM. You can submit an application online at cortezfire.com. And a duo from Utah merging sign language with music will be playing at Mancos and Cortez this July 21st, 22nd, and 23rd at Mancos Brewing Company, Wild Edge Brewing Collective, and Fenceline Cider. The duo bring awareness of deaf and disabilities to a mainstream hearing experience.
